cut parts

Cut out all the nessicary parts. The hinges should be carved out of 1/2 and the other parts out of the 1/8.

assemble the hinges

take the 1/2 hinge pieces sandwiching the claws in between the two back pieces . drill a hole through all the pieces and use bolts and nuts to secure it together.

assemble the spine

take the 1/8 spine piece and your two assembled hinges. place one hinge on top one at the bottem placing the spine in the recessed area. use glue to secure it together

add the cover

place the cover pieces in the claws of the hinge use wood glue to secure

add pages

take some sheets of 8 1/2 X 11 and fold them in half to create a crease. stack a few pages together and place them in the book. punch hole in the pages using the spine as a guide. thread string through the holes to attach them to the cover

sketch

you now have your finished book so have fun drawing and writing in it
